The Lakeland Terrier Breed Judging List Criteria (2017)
Reference may also be made to the Lakeland Terrier Judging List held by the Kennel Club
A1 List
For those persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award CC's in the breed, have completed their first appointment and have the support of the Lakeland Terrier Judges Sub Committee. (KC Policy).
A2 List
For persons who fulfill all the requirements of the A3 List and who have been assessed in accordance with KC requirements and accepted by the KC for inclusion on an A2 List and have the support of the Lakeland Terrier Judges Sub-Committee. (KC Policy).
A3 List (Breed Specialist)
1. A minimum of 7 (seven) years judging experience in Lakeland Terriers and have the support of the Lakeland Terrier Judges Sub Committee. (KC Policy)
2. To have judged at one Lakeland Terrier Breed Club Open Show.
3. To have judged a minimum of 16 (sixteen) classes of Lakeland Terriers.
4. To have judged a minimum of 30 (Thirty) Lakeland Terriers.
5. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 (three) Lakeland Terriers when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances) (KC Policy).
6. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures (KC Policy).
7. To have attended a Conformation & Movement “Hands-on Assessment” conducted by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment. (KC Policy).
8. To have attended at least one breed specific Seminar and passed an examination and / or assessment. A maximum of 5(five) dogs from one seminar only may be included when counting the number of dogs judged. (KC Policy).
Consideration will be given to wider experience
9. To have stewarded at 12 (twelve) shows (KC Policy).
A3 List (Non Specialist)
1. A minimum of 7 (seven) years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5 (five) years in this breed) and have the support of
the Lakeland Terrier Judges Sub-Committee. (KC Policy)
2. (i) To have judged one Lakeland Terrier Breed Club Open Show or
(ii) To have judged Lakeland Terriers at 3 (three) Championship Shows without CC's with an adequate geographic spread.
3. To have judged a minimum of 16 (sixteen) classes of Lakeland Terriers.
4. To have judged a minimum of 30 (Thirty) Lakeland Terriers.
5. To have awarded CC's in at least one other breed. (KC Policy).
6. To have attended at least one breed specific Seminar and passed an examination and / or assessment. A maximum of 5 (five) dogs from one seminar only may be included when counting the number of dogs judged. (KC Policy)
Consideration will be given to wider experience
7. To have bred and / or owned a minimum of 3 (three) dogs of any breed when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book.
B List (Breed Specialist)
1. To have 5 (five) years experience owning and exhibiting in this breed and have the support of the Lakeland Terrier Judges Sub Committee.
2. To have judged 3 (three) classes of Lakeland Terriers at Open or Championship Shows without CC's.
3. To have judged at least 15 (fifteen) Lakeland Terriers.
4. To have judged twenty (20) other terriers of any breed at Limit Shows or above.
5. To have (one) Lakeland Terrier entered in the Kennel Club Stud Book.
6. Prior to or within 5 (five) years of inclusion on this list, to have attended at least one breed specific seminar. A maximum of 5 (five) dogs from one seminar only may be included when counting the number of dogs judged.
B List (Non Specialist)
1. A minimum of 5 (five) years judging experience in any one terrier breed and have the support of the Lakeland Terrier Judges Sub Committee.
2. To have judged 8 (eight) classes of Lakeland Terriers at Open or Championship Shows without CC's.
3. To have judged 15 (fifteen) Lakeland Terriers.
4. To have judged twenty (20) other terriers.
5. To have 1 (one) dog entered in the Kennel Club Stud Book.
6. Prior to or within 5 (five) years of inclusion on this list, to have attended at least one breed specific seminar. A maximum of 5 (five) dogs from one seminar only may be included when counting the number of dogs judged.
C List
To have 2 (two) years judging experience in any breed or 2 (two) years owning, handling or exhibiting a terrier breed. Applicants must attend a Lakeland Terrier Judges Sub Committee seminar within 5 (five) years from applying to be on the C list.
A1 List
