They love to play all games with the family, as young puppies they sometimes do not know when to stop and therefore need to have enforced rest periods as they become overexcited. As with all dogs , particularly terriers very firm rules need to be adhered to from the very beginning. There may be problems with introducing a newborn baby to an established family dog, terriers react to loud , high pitched sounds. We suggest it is wiser to establish your family before considering having a puppy.

The main difference being the seasons that a bitch will have from approximately 6 to 9 months of age and then whatever intervals peculiar to the individual bitch.
The Lakeland Terrier is a dog that requires firm rules as a puppy, these must be consistent as bad habits are very difficult to rectify.
